what you believe, Be a Better Lawyer, Be a Better Lawyer Podcast, Dina Cataldo

#141: What You Believe

If this is your first time listening, you may want to “What You Believe” later.

It's going to a be a bit mind bending for those who haven't been introduced to the mental constructs we're breaking down today.

If you're a long-time listener, this will be a fun episode to stretch your mind and question everything you believe.

Lawyers haven't been taught to get distance from our thoughts, so that we can see whether or not we want to believe them.

We live from unexamined thoughts like,

  • “I don't have enough time.”
  • “I'm behind.”
  • “I should be doing more.”
  • “I should be working harder.”

Those unexamined thoughts are running your life, and if you aren't stopping and asking yourself if your thoughts are true, then you're missing an opportunity to change your interpretations and feel better.

You're causing unnecessary suffering by believing those old thoughts.

We're doing the thought work to question everything you believe in this episode.
